NBC/WSJ Poll has Generic Congressional Poll tied at 43% while the ABC/WashPo poll has the R's ahead

47%-45%. Among likely voters in their poll, however, the Republicans lead 53-40. This is the enthusiasm gap which Barack Obama began working on yesterday. Yes, he can!

So far, Morning Joe has covered very little of President Obama's speech yesterday, and are featuring the 'Great' White Republican Hope from New Jersey, Chris Christie, this morning. Apparently he's Joe's Republican idol now.

I haven't found the NBC poll yet, but (as you noted) the real difference is in whether they have applied a likely voter screen to their results yet. Historically, that has been closer to a four point difference at this point in the campaign, but it appears to be larger this year (which would be consistent with the reported enthusiasm gap).

They also reported their results with a LV screen and came up with a nine point (49-40) gap. Virtually identical to the ABC poll.
