a huge disappointment when they go to Washington all arrogance and swagger from their "mandate" and then get mired in the muck that is Senatorial or House procedure.
They won't be able to deliver on their promises, they'll spend most of their time and energy picking fights with what's left of the GOP establishment, trying to grab more power than they deserve because they have some misplaced, ill-informed, in-yer-face, in-their-minds-only sacred mandate from the voters. Some of them will wind up having to compromise and dilute their radical fervor because it's just so damn unrealistic, and that will piss off the teabaggers back home who will feel incredibly betrayed. You think there's some sort of blood-letting supposedly to come in two weeks (according to many pundits)? That will look like naptime at the neighborhood day care center by comparison to when the teabaggers don't get their way. They will start to eat their own. The chattering class talks WAY too much about how we Dems and liberals and progressives had too high a set of expectations from Obama and the Class of '08. Our expectations PALE in comparison with what the teahadists are demanding and to which they now claim to be entitled.
And I forget which pundit I heard a week or so ago who predicted there'll be a lot of one-termers coming out of this so-called revolution. They'll either get fed up and decline to seek reelection when it becomes clear that the DC establishment does NOT fall down and revamp everything the teabaggers' way, or they'll be bounced out by irate nutjobs who were expecting their darlings to dynamite everything about the dreaded big-gubmint to the ground. OR - I actually wouldn't be surprised if one of them gets so fed up that he or she pulls a sarah palin and quits in the middle of things to go make a fast buck on the Pox Noise market, thus throwing their home turf into disarray and their faithful believers into apoplexy, shattering everything they believed in!
This is NO TIME to hand the reins of power, or the magnitude of problems besetting our country, over to the hands of a bunch of rank amateurs with their half-baked, cockamamie, untested, pie-in-the-sky, trickle-down supply-side free-market-Utopia "ideas"! It's like taking a bunch of toddlers who are masters of the back yard kiddie pool and assuming they'll have no trouble swimming in Lake Michigan. These people are not even ready for the Not Ready for Prime Time Players.
