| Alex Sink (D) - FL Gov, Too Close to Call |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-02-10 11:12 PM by JCMach1
From Sink,
"We're Floridians, so we know what it means to count every single vote. So this is what we're going to do. We're going to let the peple of Florida ... have their voices heard."
i.e. She's not conceding tonight.

| 2. One biggie problem was St Pete. GOTV was horrible. At 6pm, we got a list in |
|
Beth county to start callig... Turn out was bad. It's a biggie along the I-4. Too little effort. The dems decided to let it go this time. Very bad for the next presidential election.

| 3. A long shot at this point. |
|
I thought the race had been called over an hour ago... but I guess I read it wrong.
May not matter as much any longer. The republicans picked up veto-proof majorities in both houses of the state legislature.

| 7. The Governor still has the ability to set the agenda, doesn't she? |

| 10. Depends on what you mean by "agenda" |
|
There are functions that are executive in nature, and the gov certainly continues to hold those... but the legislature would be able to pass any law they wanted to.
Doesn't look like it's likely to be a "she" though... so it's all academic.

| 11. How about calling a special prosecutor to investigate corruption |
|
in the state? Or audits of government agencies?

| 12. You don't need a "special" prosecutor |
|
You can just use the regular ones. Special prosecutors are usually for investigating the executive branch without running too hard into a conflict of interest problem (since the executive usually controls law enforcement).

| 13. Can the governor remove and replace State Attorneys? |
|
That move alone would push Florida into this century.

|

to swing the race to Sink...
That's my assessment anyway... maybe only about 28K outstanding
difference currently at 1.37%
Scott likely to declare victory within the hour.
