| How come the TeaPublican's aren't out protesting municipal Christmas celebrations as "wasteful"? |
|
Last evening my family and I enjoyed an annual Festival of Lights evening holiday parade and city tree lighting in our community. This event requires extra police help. Fire engines, ambulances, and public works department vehicles are used. They burn gas, and personnel have to be paid. Annually holiday wreathes are put up all over our downtown area, which are lit and use electricity, and our city Christmas tree costs money and requires electricity. All this at taxpayers' expense. And this goes on in thousands of towns and cities across the nation. Why aren't the TeaPublicans out in force protesting such a "horrid waste of taxpayer dollars" as they would say? Also, why aren't they out protesting on the national mall to end Medicare, to end Social Security, to privatize all schools and colleges, to close all public libraries, to end all public school sports, to close all public entertainment venue arenas and concert halls, to privatize fire departments, to close all local, state, and national parks as needless waste, to end military waste, to end subsidies for oil companies and agribusiness, (and of course the list goes on and on)? Where are THESE protests?? Or, how many of these so-called TeaPartier's are deeply and very personally in love with many or all of the programs and services just mentioned. What a bunch of hypocritical fucking sacks of panty waste. :-)
