A whole lot of this anger against Obama is misdirected.

Congressional Democrats have been a disaster in so many ways.This aggregation of House Blue Dogs, Evan Bayhs, Ben Nelsons, Mary Landrieus et. al. have been played for fools by the likes of Grassley and Collins. Even some our better Senators are so enamored with their outmoded prerogatives, that their allegiance to a tradition of the filibuster is more important than passing progressive legislation. Why on earth would anyone think that the group that didn't have the courage to vote on the tax bill before the mid-terms would develop a spine in the lame duck session.If the Democrats defeat this plan, we will be held responsible for both the tax hikes and the cut-off of unemployment benefits. Then in January Boehner and company will reinstate the tax cuts and offer substantially reduced unemployment coverage.And count on the Corporate media to report it exactly this way.

and as far as unemployment benefits the republicans have to go home and face their own constituents during the break. Republicans are unemployed too. I don't think Boener wants this to be his first vote and the new teabaggers in congress won't vote for it so they need dems most likely to pass it if it doesn't get done before that.

She's pissed that the GOP gave into Obama on UI first thing after taking office. It was a campaign promise that they cut them and she wanted the deal to explode.

We only have the Senate on paper. The "blue dogs" vote with the Repiggies every time it really matters, so they have a working majority, and have had for years, even when we supposedly had 60 seats.

An unidentified Democratic lawmaker let slip his frustration at President Obama’s proposed tax compromise, apparently muttering “f**k the president,” during a heated debate this morning.

As Democratic House members met this morning in a closed-door session to determine if they would vote on the compromise tax plan the White House hashed out with GOP leaders, one member forgot the Capitol’s rules of good decorum.

House Democrats decided overwhelmingly to reject the compromise, demanding more concessions made before it gets voted on.

The proposed package would extend the Bush tax cuts across incomes, extend benefits to the unemployed, and cut payroll taxes.

The surprise insurrection against the president seems motivated mostly by anger at extending cuts to the wealthiest Americans and a provision that would lower taxes on inherited income -- the estate tax.
