President Obama's statement regarding the House's passage of the DADT repeal

President Obama's statement on the passage of legislation designed to repeal the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy:

"I applaud the House for passing, with bipartisan support, the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010. Legislative repeal is supported by the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The process contained in this legislation allows for a smooth and responsible repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” in a way that maintains good order and discipline in our military ranks. Indeed, all of the Service Chiefs have said that when this law is changed , they will implement an orderly transition effectively and efficiently. As the comprehensive study by the Department of Defense clearly shows, we can move to a new policy in a responsible manner that ensures our military strength and our national security. I particularly want to thank Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, and Congressman Patrick Murphy for their leadership on this issue. I have consistently called for the repeal of this law. Moving forward with the repeal is not only the right thing to do, it will also give our military the clarity and certainty it deserves. We must ensure that Americans who are willing to risk their lives for their country are treated fairly and equally by their country.".

And, it is ridiculous to think you can fool any of us into believing that Obama is really just trying to favor one tactic over another when the two tactics are opposing each other. They aren't two tactics for the same goal, one better than the other.

No. He telling us that congress should repeal DADT while he is fighting in court to keep DADT in place. That is pure Hypocrisy! Nothing more and nothing less.

There was no necessary reason for him to be in court arguing to keep DADT. He did not have a legal mandate to defend DADT. In many other cases he has chosen not to defend defend appeals in court. He could have refused to defend this one too. The fact that he is in court defending DADT shows that he Chooses to defend DADT. Regardless of what he says in his speeches, his actions in court show that he Wants to keep DADT and Wants to defend DADT. He isn't doing this accidentally.

Anyone who still believes Obama today when he gives speeches claiming that he wants to overturn DADT is choosing to believe the lies of a politician even though that politician has already shown by his actions that his actions will contradict his words.

Believing a politician who lies very fluently is unfortunate. Choosing to keep believing that politician even after his lies have been revealed is just sad and pathetic.

It was once accepted that previous Supreme Court precedent set forth that there were limits to private political donations...
up until the Supreme Court rejected all that last year.

The point being that they can reverse a previous Supreme Court decision.

He always supports it, until he caves in and doesn't support it.

Then he supports the opponent's view, and somehow retro-actively always did support the opponent's view. He and his supporters deny that he ever promised support on the original view, and always held the new position.

And even thought the new position is a republican position he took by caving in, somehow it is now the best possible position, and the liberal ideal position!

So then we have a democratic president and all his hard-core democratic supporters cheering for republican policies. Even worse, they are all attacking any democrats who dare to keep insisting that democratic policies or positions would be better!

We have a Democratic administration and all their supporters moving us proudly to the right, and insisting it is the best and most liberal thing to do, and fuck all those damned stupid hippy liberals who won't shut up and keep complaining! Those complainers keep saying something about needing to move the party back to the left? Why would we ever want to do that?
