Hawaii's Governor Wants to Reveal Obama Birth Info

Democratic Gov. Neil Abercrombie wants to find a way to release more information about President Barack Obama's birth and dispel conspiracy theories that he was born elsewhere.

(AP)Abercrombie was a friend of Obama's parents and knew him as a child, and is deeply troubled by the effort to cast doubt on the president's citizenship.

The newly elected Democrat will ask the state attorney general's office and health officials about how he can make public more of Obama's birth documentation from Aug. 4, 1961, spokeswoman Donalyn Dela Cruz said Tuesday.

"He had a friendship with Mr. Obama's parents, and so there is a personal issue at hand," Dela Cruz said. "Is it going to be done immediately? No, the first thing on our list is the economy."

not already in the Hawaiian birth certificate? If they mean the certificate that he may have gotten from the hospital, generally that has LESS information than is in the state record. Just try to get a US passport with that hospital certificate and you'll have a REAL awakening.
My MT "certificate of live birth" is absolute proof as it stands of my natural-born status.
So why is HI's official document not acceptable for him? Is President Obama held to a different standard just because the birthers can't deal with the fact that his father was a black African who married a white American woman?
That's their bottom line.
The fact that he's a Democrat also factors in. If he were Republican (a thought that absolutely boggles the mind considering today's Rethuglican Party which I distinguish from its antecedents), the issue would never have seen the light of day.

But here's the thing: President Obama proved his citizenship to the satisfaction of the Federal Election Commission, the body tasked with ensuring that candidates who run for office are constitutionally eligible to do so. What's more, every court that has looked at birther challenges has thrown them out. The legal birth certificate the President did, in fact, produce was legally sufficient, so the birthers' insistence on ever more documentation is motivated either by a malevolent desire to feed and water the ignorance of a certain portion of the electorate, or it is motivated by irrational bigotry and xenophobia. But whichever it is (and it is probably some of both), to give in to their demands would be to afford an element of legitimacy to the birthers, and to their lunatic theories, that they simply do not deserve at this point. And, I fear, giving in to their demand on this question would open the floodgates to a whole new round of fringe groups demanding the President prove his legitimacy on an ever-expanding number of absurd non-issues.
