The Republic Strikes Back!
And I use that word quite deliberately, as I hope that the events of today might set us on a path to abandon Empire, and return to being the kind of country we have always been meant to be.

1. We've been an empire since Teddy Roosevelt fought and won the Spanish-American war.
The best we can hope for now is the return to how we were before all these war and the easing of the national security state.
