I'm speechless. In a million years I never would have dreamed that Rush has any class, as short lived as it may be.

Rush Limbaugh did something he rarely does: he praised President Obama on his Monday show for the death of Osama bin Laden.

"We need to open the program today by congratulating President Obama," he said. "President Obama has done something extremely effective, and when he does, this needs to be pointed out."

The effectiveness, he said, came from President Obama's decision to send a Special Forces team to kill bin Laden--something he said, citing news reports, that none of the president's military advisers had thought of doing.

"Our military wanted to go in there and just scorch the earth...but President Obama single-handedly understood what was at stake here. He alone understood the need to get DNA to prove the death...it was President Obama single-handedly and alone who came up with the strategy that brought about the effective assassination of Osama bin Laden," he said, adding, "thank God for President Obama."

Limbaugh also said that it was Obama's continuation of President Bush's military and detention policies that provided the intelligence which led to bin Laden's killing. (He also made the by-now-common gaffe of swtiching Obama's and bin Laden's names around in his sentences.

just enjoy the fact that one of the biggest Obama bashers praised the President this morning??? Or is that not possible?

Audio at the link. According to Rush, the only reason the mission was undertaken -- AND the only reason jokes were told about Trump at the dinner (yes, Rush DID tie these together) -- is that the President isn't a shoo-in for re-election.

Nothing different, but in this case it was even more disgusting. He words were different than the message. He was implying that Obama was taking all the credit for doing this.

He was damning through faint praise.

He also messed up/mixed up Obama/Osama way to many times for it to be cooincidence for a "highly trained broadcast professional".

In a long list, that was Rush's worst performance to date.

I tuned in because I wanted to hear what he was going to say. I actually expected something gracious and optimistic. I was disappointed, but not surprised we got neither.

12. It should be OBVIOUS, if anyone actually listened to him rather than just reading his words,

that he WAS being sarcastic and damning with faint praise. I couldn't even count the number of times that he said, "Obama, SINGLE-HANDEDLY,..." He said no intel experts nor generals on the ground etc., even THOUGHT to do the things Obama said should be done. And to top it all off, he "praised" him foe keeping Bush's policies going, including keeping Gitmo open, and probably waterboarding detainees to get info. :eyes:

10. Well, I guess we have to give the devil his due. Up until he talks

about following boooosh tactics. Obama did not follow boooosh in this he placed it in the hands of the CIA where it should have been in the first place instead of booosh's wars.
