There were lots of incidents throughout Bush's presidency when he was clearly communicating with someone by microphone...only he was not visibly on mic. Man was the biggest fraud in history.

6. It's especially funny when they give a speech without one.

They look down at their text throughout, so the audience mostly sees the top of their head. It looks unprofessional and renders the speech ineffective. This is why teleprompters were invented, so that you can read your speech and maintain eye contact with your audience. This is why virtually all non-wingnut public speakers use them.
