| Just Pissed On My Palin Obsessed Neighbor |
|
Edited on Mon May-30-11 05:17 PM by rsmith6621
He just put in his front room window a half chopped 2008 campaign sign from McCain/Palin and he created a sticker that says 2012 and plastered on it...
Went out to take the garbage to the community dumpster and he was out watering his garden. I said to him "it's a little early for campaign signs isn't it" OH NO he said Palin will soon be the only serious candidate all the others except for T-Paw will be gone by Christmas... I said Christmas 2016 right?..then he became loud and nasty and started the standard RANT... I excused myself for a minute, went to the dumpster, to the car and found a piece of notebook paper and pencil, walked back to him and said "NAME ONE SINGLE SOLUTION THAT PALIN HAS OFFERED TO MAKE THE USA A BETTER PLACE except for her to take her family and leave this country...... He muttered behind his lips and after 30 seconds or so I handed him the paper an pencil and said take a day or two and write what you find on the paper and give and we'll talk about it another day... Good Luck and headed back to my car to go visit the cemetery my Dad is at... He YELLED at me calling me a smartA$$ I said solutions please and drove off.
The guy is in his early 40s..

Not surprised at the reaction when you challenge a Palin supporter to THINK. There's no "there" there.

| 6. Just add "- 2013 1/2" then his sign will be complete! |
|
"Palin 2012-2013 1/2" has been a bumper sticker for a while now and is one of my favorites!

| 15. The OP also has the right to ask him why he supports her |
|
Which he/she did. It sounds like a rather simple request the OP had. Name one solution that Sarah has put forth?

| 24. Clearly the Palin guy wants attention |
|
I would say he got it.
Sure the idiot has a "right" to support whoever he wants, but when he makes a public endorsement (as in his crappy sign) he ought to be able to back his product up.
This polite silence BS by Liberal purists has worked out SO WELL for the last two decades (NOT)

| 11. I see 3 main reasons why people I know like her |
|
In no particular order:
1) "She's hot" No joke.
2) The religion thing. They say they don't want a theocracy, but as you talk to them, you find they really do. Most don't know what it means; I had to explain it.
3) The gun / hunting issue. I mean I guess I could be classified as pro-gun myself, but that's a stupid reason to vote for ANYbody on that alone. Sure as hell not enough to have an unstable airhead like her in the presidency.
Oh, all these people, I guess they total about 6 or 7 in number, are what I will politely describe as uniformed and unread. 2 of them are dumber than dirt really ( not the ones who think she's hot, amazingly ). I get along with them OK so long as we speak on other subjects. I still like to needle them on her idiocy though.

|
covering the back window - it was just the McCain graphics without his actual name there. I wonder if the guy has the self-awareness to realize how many people are just pointing and laughing!

| 13. Ya know, we just decided years ago not to bring up politics with my BIL. |
|
We about fell off our chairs last summer when he commented out of the blue " This country really needs to do something about inequitable income distribution." On his own, (with maybe a little nudging from us) he realized the Republican view of the economy is wrong.
I think it's pointless and sometimes detrimental to rile up true believers just for the sake of the sparks. Better to aim to actually persuade someone to vote with us.

It may not change his mind but it's likely he'll stop talking about her with you. That's what I've found happens. People stop talking politics with me. I'm fine with it since I've learned there's no changing their minds.

of such a discussion. I would rather focus on being neighborly. If they want to put signs in their windows - so be it.
