| Interesting Gallup editor in chief comments - Obama "out teflon's Reagan" |
|
Edited on Tue Jul-26-11 08:08 AM by karynnj
This puts into perspective that Obama has retained people's approval better than either Clinton or Reagan when the economy was bad during their time in office. Given that the economy is significantly worse now, this is impressive. http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/washington-whispers/2011/07/19/obama-out-teflons-reaganTo me this make suggest that Boehner's rude, not the full truth RW pandering yesterday may further discredit the Republicans. Edited to make coherent

Though I think there are some who dislike Obama more because he is black, this article actually shows that as a person, Obama , is liked far beyond people's happiness with circumstances or policies.
I also suspect that the RW would have been as virulently against Hillary Clinton, which some might than have said was sexism. But, I suspect that they would have been just as angry against John Kerry, who is white, male, and a war hero or Al Gore, who is white, male, Southern and a WASP. What they are against is what all 4 have in common - DEMOCRAT. Not to mention, that even Republican is not enough as they hate a large number of Republicans.

this poll, along with a lot of other evidence, proves #beforeblackpresidents wrong.
Also not on #beforeblackpresidents, the non-attention on liberal blogs to things that preoccupied us during Bush: wars, civil liberties, torture, etc.

| 5. Thanks - I think your point is very correct |

Sorry I didn't get it.
I think it does a disservice to Obama to have people claim that any problems are because he is black - he really shattered all of that by becoming President. That means that people have seen him and his family enough that for most they are the complicated people they are - not stereotypes. That is a major advantage that being President brings with it.

| 8. How does it prove beforeblackpresidents wrong? |
|
The rise of the Tea Party and the Birthers on Obama's watch is surely not a coincidence. The level of obstruction from the Republicans has been called unprecedented from every reliable source. And the non-stop drumbeat of criticism from some "liberal" quarters has even made a number of whites scratch their heads.
It's really interesting and important to note that he is still so well-liked. But that in no way negates the difficulties he faces because of the color of his skin.

It is the D behind his name FAR more than the color of his skin. They play to it, but they play to whatever they can get their hands on to delegitimize a democrat.
Heck, they accussed Bill Clinton of being a drug dealer and having Vince Foster killed, but if somehow BO had somethings like that that could be attached to him, heads would REALLY be exploding that it was about him being black.
But, the Rs spent 10s of millions of dollars investigating Clinton ON EVERYTHING, including the friggen fan mail of the pet cat and christmas card list. Howard Dean got destroyed for a "scream." Kerry, who actually served and was wounded was painted as a coward and hater of america.
They spent two decades making Hillary into the embodiment of the anti-christ attempting to destroy her as a candiate for president, and the moment BO was the clear favorite to win the nomination she was doing fund raisers with Murdoch and was a Fox News favorite.
It is the D ...

As a liberal, I haven't found him inspiring but he sure beats the hell out of any of the other options out there.

then there was when Reagan was sleeping and lying as President. Democrats were more interested in doing what was right then Republicans are now.
