| Kinky Friedman officially jumps shark, endorses Perry |
|
:puke: http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/perry-lands-kinky-endorsement-171520236.htmlOnce a sticky thorn in Texas Gov. Rick Perry's side, former Texas gubernatorial candidate Kinky Friedman took to the pages of The Daily Beast Thursday to endorse his old nemesis....
"So, would I support Rick Perry for president? Hell, yes! As the last nail that hasn't been hammered down in this country, I agree with Rick that there are already too damn many laws, taxes, regulations, panels, committees, and bureaucrats. While Obama is busy putting the hyphen between 'anal' and 'retentive' Rick will be rolling up his sleeves and getting to work."...
Despite the apparent change of heart, Perry shouldn't feel too special. The former lead singer of the band "Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys" said that he would support just about anyone but Obama.
"Obama has done for the economy what pantyhose did for foreplay," he wrote. "I would support Charlie Sheen over Obama."Sheen/Friedman '12. The WINNING! Ticket. :sarcasm:

| 1. He had a not-inconsiderable role.. |
|
...in creating Governor Perry in the first place.
Big Kinky support here on DU back then, too.

There was no shark to jump. He would always support Perry over Obama.

and a Kinky for Governor sticker. Don't know what the heck they were thinking.

| 8. Something happens to these "anti-establishment" type guys once they've |
|
been around for a few decades. I mean, if you're desperately clinging to relevancy, and if you need to be the center of attention, you have to take an outrageous stance. It's got nothing to do with principles and everything to do with "look at meeeeeee!"
