| Did any of you catch what Harry Reid said yesterday on the Floor of the Senate? |
|
I replayed it several times. I heard this quote played a few times and caught it every time. Martin Bashir just played it on his segment called "Top Lines":
Harry Reid: "My friend, the Republic Leader, as candid as he was, said his number one goal was to defeat President Obama. And that's what's been going on for 9 months here."
The only other person to use this term was Anthony Weiner years ago in the House. I posted a video of it.

| 14. No, I missed it, yet I thnk they should let Franken do more impressions of them. |

Because Franken knows just how to make them look ridiculous by ridiculing the way they act. Is it beneath the dignity of a Senator to do that sort of thing? I don't think it is, in this situation.
The Rethuglicans have no shame. They just go out in public and tell lies. They enjoy making a mockery of serving as public servants. They've lowered the bar so low that they have brought the office of U.S. Senator on par with low-life, unfunny, redneck comedians and crappy country music garage bands.
50 years ago, serving as a U.S. Senator was one of the most noble things an American could do for this country. But, the Republicans have managed to turn their party into a circus freakshow with unqualified cretins like David Vitter getting placed into office. Racists like George Allen. Jerks like Rick Santorum. And retrograde, anti-science zealots like Rand Paul.
Those people don't deserve to be Senators. They don't deserve any respect, either.

"Democrat Party" has been driving me nuts for years and what these "republics" don't understand, is it makes them sound uneducated when they use it.
