Today the Senate is going to kill the jobs bill with the help of some dems (of course Obama will get the blame from many liberals....that's just how things work around here and other blogs). But if we want real change shouldn't we marching on the steps of congress and demand change? Wall Street can't change the damn laws.

| 1. We have been for decades. Where have you been? And who says "Wall Street can't change..." |
"...the damn laws?" They wrote 'em in the first place, after all.

| 4. I think once we have enough people we can do both - |
occupy the yards of rich folk and Congress (some of these are one and the same so it shouldn't be too hard).

| 5. Imagine what it might be like if this bill was highly desired by |
the people, if it contained really useful things which inspired passion, rather than compromised bipartisan things which inspired apathy and sent all the passions into the streets of NY? Last thing I heard Obama say about this bill is that it is full of Republican ideas, so they should be supporting it. That's what he wanted, of course he always wants that and yet he is not able to deliver that. But if instead he looked for support from the people, not Tom Coburn, he might find all that wind as his back, all that passion there as backup. Expecting liberal people to 'Occupy Congress' over a bill that Republicans should love because it is filled with their ideas is silly and counterproductive. Those in the streets are not Republicans, and do not desire to give energy to passing Republican ideas without Republican votes. Why should they? Be specific. Don't you think promoting the Republican nature of the bill hinders gaining the support of liberal voters? I sure do.

they do something about jobs.
