Man can't even get all of his own party behind him on something so non-controversial.
I called (had written before) my Republican senator, Mark Kirk's office and said I urged him strongly to vote yes tonight. The staff member demurred by saying he had not yet revealed how he would vote. I repeated my request and she said, "Well, you know, this is not the final vote; it is a procedural vote." I said I had absolutely no interest in process, political maneuvering, or procedural posturing--that I expected him to show strong support at every step of the process, including tonight. Boy, was there a silence on the other end before she said she'd pass my message along.
Sigh.

Congress 100% for this-including the Conservadems.
ETA: Maybe the assassination attempt of the ambassador was on his mind.
