He will probably choose a right wing running mate like Chris Christie to satisfy the base, and the Republicans will fall into line.

The election next year will be very close much like 2000, complete with Republican shenanigans on election day.

The race will be a toss up, not a cake walk.

The new powers that be are the people behind the tea party. It astonishes me that people like the Koch brothers do not hide their prior connections to the John Birch society, which I thought was completely and thoroughly discredited decades ago.

be one reason Christie declined to enter the race for president. Maybe this was the plan all along. In the long run I do not think it will be a winning ticket but with Republicans one never knows. It could be Republican voters will finally realize even a candidate who speaks out of both sides of his mouth is surely better than the rest of the gang. The rest of the field now running could be used for ingredients in a fruit cake for Christmas.

9. If it were Jon Huntsman, Obama would be in trouble

The stats show that Obama would have trouble getting re-elected due to the economy. Huntsman is, in some ways, a more moderate republican and therefore attractive to independents. We, of course, can take comfort in the fact that the crazies run the nuthouse and therefore it will likely be Gingrich.

But I disagree about the General. This is a sacrafice cycle for the Republicans. Any R who has serious Presidential aspirations will wait until 2016. Nobody wants to go up against Obama.
