About solving the nation's problems such as immigration, he said that if elected President, he would suspend all federal regulations that prevent a World War II type of response to the problems. He then crowed that the U.S. won World War II against both the Nazis and Japanese in only three years.

This is a historian? You think maybe the Russians played a role over a longer period of time? What about the Battle of Britain? And does he realize that the response of the U.S. to the challenges of World War II was an example of the power of big government, such as the government-funded Manhattan Project?
