If he thought it was an awful idea back then, he shouldn't have voted for it and/or worked hard to make sure his Republican colleagues actually came to a reasonable compromise with the Dems instead of acting like a-holes by making unreasonable demands. :shrug: :nopity:
The military wasn't broke at 2007 spending levels and won't be broke in 2013 either, so I think we'll manage with less defense spending just like we have to deal with less (and more neglected) social spending.
