Question about the new homepage

So, I noticed that DU has a new homepage that apparently shows screen captures of DU from various significant dates in its history.

I lurk. I used the old homepage to get the latest news and such. The new homepage simply introduces an extra click for me. This alone is not the end of the world. Much worse is when I get to a story, and click "home" to get back to the ten latest stories on the homepage like I used to, and end up on the screen capture homepage instead.

I could click LBN instead, but then I get the ten threads that have been posted in most recently on top by default, not the ten most recent stories. I now find that LBN has lost some functionality for me, which is probably not an intended consequence of the change.

Is there any way to rectify this?

1. If you read the text at the bottom of the homepage...

...you'll see that the homepage will be back to normal on January 27.

It's our 10th anniversary.
