Stupid newbie question. K&R?

Kick I understand, it just bumps a post back to the top. Rec I understand the concept, but I'm not seeing an option to actually recommend or give a + to a post.

Am I being blind, stupid, or simply missing something?

1. You can recommend the original post that starts a thread (the "OP").

There are little black links at the bottom of the post that say "Recommend" and "Unrecommend"
