Why are posts promoting communism allowed on here

Communism is an inherently anti-democratic form of government; communists have been responsible for the murder of millions of people since the early days of the Soviet Union

if someone posted threads defending fascism, I'm sure those would be locked and the person TSed within minutes so why allow posts defending communism?

allowing these posts only serves to give those who think DU is already some leftwing cesspool even more ammunition to attack the site

1. I would imagine it depends on the context

If you see posts that you think are problematic, my suggestion would be to alert on them and let the moderators figure it out.

2. isn't advocating in favor of communism enough?

I think all the posts trying to paint communism in a positive light are problematic

as I said, would the admins allow posts that try to pain fascism in a positive light

3. I think EarlG was correct. Context matters.

If someone is having a purely hypothetical discussion about some utopian pipe-dream version of communism, then that might be different from arguing in favor of Stalinist totalitarianism.

although allowing communists to post their crap on here only serves to give people more ammo to use against DU

it's a good thing that someone gave me my star because I certainly wouldn't donate to a site that allow the promotion of a system that has been responsible for the murders of millions of people over the years

anyone promoting communism is serving as an apologist for these murderous regimes
