| In regards to my recently locked thread |
I was surprised when it was locked over twelve hours after it was posted and after it received hundreds of recs and had already been promoted by DU onto the featured Journal entry list. My question is simple however. Standing on its own was there anything in my OP or in my reply to posts on that thread that broke any DU rules or expectations for conduct on DU, or was it instead the cumulative effect of the discussion that developed on that thread in response to my OP that required it to be locked?
If you are willing to discuss the reasons why that thread was locked beyond my simple question, I would be interested in reading them, but at the least I want feedback as to whether it is felt that my conduct vis a vis that thread was out of line with DU.

| 1. Ultimately the moderators decided that the OP amounted to |
third-party advocacy. But there was quite a bit of debate before they arrived at that conclusion. It was a tough call and sometimes these things can go either way.

| 2. Fair enough. I disagree with that conclusion but I can accept |
that the decision was made in good faith by people who are volunteering to do a difficult and sometimes thankless task. Thanks for the reply.
