I'm not complacent. I remember the 1992 elections. George HW Bush rode a wave of popularity after Desert Storm kicked the Iraqis out of Kuwait--then lost the 1992 election to Bill Clinton. I suspect that the guys who are manipulating the oil price hikes are working on other unpleasant surprises to bring down President Obama and the return of sane, responsible government.
