I live in a middle eastern neighborhood and frequent both kinds of stores....neither of them eat pork for instance, but with the halal markets, there are a lot of things like vanilla extract they don't use in the products b/c they avoid alcohol totally even at that level.

I always find it amusing that the Freepers have this mythology that Islamic people FREAK OUT AND KILL THEMSELVES if they are even around so much as a piece of bacon. So absurd. I worked with a guy from Egypt who was a practicing Muslim and we used to send out for food a lot, he got my soup instead of the one he ordered and got half way through it before realizing there was bacon in it. He was like, oh well, now I know! The freeps prob would have expected him to jump off a highrise window or something, LOL, they are so stupid.

60. Have to admit, I IMMENSELY enjoyed reading the rightwing meltdowns Sunday night

on various messageboards online, they were COMPLETELY unprepared and stunned at the news, and were unable to gather their wits and respond with any coherent insults about President Obama, when OPs began popping up like popcorn after it went viral online that OBL was killed. Of course some tried to claim that he deserved no credit whatsoever, but after his speech and more information became available, that he indeed made the final decision to use a small group of specially selected SEALs to take out OBL, some even (albeit very, very grudgingly) began to thank and congratulate him in their posts. I believe what many/most rightwingers really are/were upset about, is because they absolutely hated the fact that President Obama's approval ratings had likely shot into the stratosphere as a result. Some even posted as much, saying that there are too many "dumb" voters in this country, who vote based upon their emotions instead of using "reason" and "common sense" by voting for a Rethug, would vote to re-elect him in '12, forgetting all about the "bad" things he had done, such as Obamacare, ect..just based on his involvement as CIC in killing OBL, and because he was able to do what Bush couldn't as POTUS...haha!!

One thing for sure. No one knows the complete story, or will until the Navy finishes all the debriefings and puts out a report. It could take some time coming up with the best, most complete, blow by blow account of events.

You could probably get a different story on what happened from everyone in the situation room, even Obama. People not trained to even recognize what they were hearing or seeing made statements. The reason for all the confused reporting.

They probably should have announced the mission and told everyone to keep their mouths shut. If all we knew was Bin Ladin was killed and buried at sea and everyone was waiting for the official story, I think it would be better.
