2. Yes, absolutely. The key is that the Taliban offered IF the US could provide evidence.

You can search the web or especially the archives of DU at the time. The offer was made and the only condition was that the US provide evidence which showed that OBL was responsible.

3. Yes, it is true.

They connected Bin Laden to 9/11 even though there was no evidence. BushCo was bound and determined to get their war on. Also remember, the Taliban had been meeting with BushCo. in Texas just prior to the whole thing. There is so much more to our involvment in Afghanistan that "9/11".
