Ha! Lynn Samuels, Obama-hater extraordinaire, is being moved off Sirius Left channel, FINALLY.

Just happened to turn on the channel and apparently they are putting her on the "Stars" channel on weekends, and she's whining about how Obama must have put the hit on her in preparation for his 2012 campaign, :rofl:

In case you had no idea who this is (you're not missing anything), this is one of the radio hosts on Sirius "Left". She vents as much hate and racism towards the president as ANY right winger, as well as a lot of hate for illegal immigrants, and love for Matt Drudge (her number one source of information). She's had a couple hours a day radio platform on the "liberal" channel on Sirius for a few years now to do this.

I'd have to imagine Sirius has fielded tons of complaints about this particular show being on the "Left" channel by now, maybe they finally listened or her ratings are so shit that they finally moved her to one of the non-political channels.

6. Yeah, Bennett is about 80 percent as bad as Samuels.

And again, only part of it is his Obama hate. He's just kind of a sour, nasty unpleasant person. Not particularly entertaining and difficult to listen to.

The female sycophant adds basically nothing to the show, I'm guessing they were just trying to blunt the impact of his sour-old-man-ness.

Contrast Robin in the Howard Stern show. Even though she gets a lot of hate from the Stern fans, people with a clue realize just how much she adds to the show with her pleasant voice and laugh.

13. I'm tempted to say that a lot of it is PUMA derangement from a Hillary supporter, but it's more.

There certainly is that element, but she vents so much racist spleen against Mexican immigrants on her show that it seems clear that she is just a bitter old racist, that's a big part of it with her independent of party politics.

The fact that she tends to pull her news and headlines off Matt Drudge and is always picking over his site for material during her show, and seems to have no idea why Sirius "Left" listeners might have a problem with this, might indicate that she's just lazy, or doesn't even feel like disguising her right wing leanings.

...circa '91. Samuels was on BAI in between stints on WABC (the NYC home of Limbaugh, Hannity, Curtis Sliwa, and the other RW blabbers) as a token liberal, and (IMO) an easily-dismissable one.

The RWers on ABC would constantly pound national politics, while Samuels would veer into local chit-chat, like a flea market she went to over the weekend. There's a place for that, but when you're representing the "liberal" view, it makes liberals look flighty and scatterbrained (which, also IMO, was one of the reasons she kept getting work there).

But that was ages ago. I don't think I've heard her in nearly 15 years.

14. She Can Take Alex Bennett With Her

With so many GOOD left-wing commentators out there (ones that I have a hard time finding even when I make an effort to), why did these two have such a prominent voice on Sirius Left? Even on the weekends, when all they do is re-run shows, it was ALWAYS Alex Bennett or Lynn Samuels. It got to the point where I couldn't even listen to them anymore, and that's like half of Sirius Left's broadcast day.

I would usually get mad and think, "I can't even FIND Thom Hartmann and a few others, but these two are on ALL THE TIME?"

And they've got Ed Schultz on at 3:00 p.m., which is fine, but it's not live, so you have no way of calling in if you want to.

I couldn't stand listening to her and I never understood why she was on the Sirius Left channel. I do miss some of the channels, but I doubt I'll go back to Sirius unless I happen to buy a new car sometime. Frankly I enjoy my iPod and the extra ten bucks a month in my bank account more than I ever enjoyed Sirius.

She was pathetic and I thought her language was inappropriate even for subscription radio. I could never figure out why someone so classless qualified as a talk show host, let alone as a supposed "liberal." I'm glad someone mentioned Alex Bennett, who was way too obnoxious to listen to. I can't believe Sirius doesn't get a ton of complaints about him every day! They're like two sides of the same coin - both are bigoted and extremely poor excuses for hosts.
