| Selling the U.S. Justice System on Craigslist |
|
When you sell something on Craigslist you might as well be up front about its defects. Otherwise when people come to look at the goods they'll be annoyed that your ad didn't mention any problems. So if you're going to sell the U.S. justice system, you might as well admit that it doesn't scale up very well.
Mind you, there's nothing wrong with it. It's a perfectly good justice system for small- to moderate-scale criminals. But big criminals? Feh. That's why you have commandos.
Don't misunderstand me. Osama bin Laden got exactly what he deserved. He sleeps with the fishes today, and there isn't a justice system in the world that could handle a big criminal like that. Our justice system is just fine. It's a perfectly good justice system. Not a thing wrong with it.

you should say that it really hasn't been used recently for any major work. Also it has a tendency to short circuit around large sums of cash....
