| Moore on Countdown: "It's Not The Leaks That Are Killing Anyone, It's The Secrets" |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-14-10 08:17 PM by Hissyspit
Interview with Michael Moore on Countdown w/ KEITH OLBERMANN just now.
MOORE: What if WikiLeaks had existed when Bush got Aug. 2001 PDB? What if it had existed in 1964 when there was report that N. Vietnam had fired on U.S. ship?
Greater good to the people to "protect ourselves from these follies. Some are not follies, some are crimes."
Jefferson and Franklin knew "power corrupts" and it is "necessary to have a very large light" on those in power.

| 3. I have said that forever! |

Not one person has been killed because of WikiLeaks. Please. Someone from the WikiLeak Haters Club please name one damn person killed. I can enumerate and name innocent Reuters reporters and Iraqi citizens killed and tortured by us.

| 11. Yes! The military has been blatantly targetting reporters! |
|
Or government is now blatantly targeting peace activists, again! Our own government has made itself a persistent and dedicated opponent of free speech, investigative journalism, privacy, our former right to protection from unnecessary searches and seizures, and end even our former right to due process.
Our government is retaining only a myth and facade of rights, with the actual reality of those rights dissolved and deteriorated until they cannot be called rights anymore.
They are really only privileges now, reserved for only the people that the government chooses to give them to, and denied to anyone else to whom the government wants them denied. That means, of course, that these privileges are disproportionately granted based on wealthy and connections, and they can/are routinely denied because of poverty and prejudices.

WikiLeaks has been releasing a great variety of info for years now - including bank info (Swiss Bank, Kaupthing Bank) - and has always released what was announced was going to be released, but now it's this ONE leak that has to happen or Assange - who is NOT all of WikiLeaks - a troll?
Bank release is supposed to happen in January, as I understand, and they are STILL in the middle of a HUGE leak.
Good grief.

| 12. Do you realize how dumb that sounds? |
|
:wtf:
Assange is going to look like a troll? Seriously? How? Have you been paying any attention?
Wilileaks has always announced in advance what they were going to release, and whenever they have made an announcement they have always successfully had the information public when they said they would.
That is Wikileaks the organization, not just Assange all by himself. They aren't just one person you know, and they have been functioning even while Assange has been in jail.
You do know that Wikileaks gives their data first to news organizations to redact and release for them, right? So if those news organizations decided that it all needed to be withheld because it was all too explosive to be released (extremely unlikely, but possible) then Wikileaks would probably honor that decision and do the same. When news organizations redact the information Wikileaks posts it with the redactions intact. So it is the news organizations that decide what the public will see and what we don't see.
So in the very unlikely case that this bankster information does not come out on time, how would that make Assange a troll?
In the very unlikely case that news organizations redact out so much information that this leak becomes harmless, how does that make Assange a troll?
Chances are good though that the release will happen as planned, some personal information might be redacted by news organizations, but it will still be explosive information despite any redactions, and Assange won't know or care that you called him a troll.
