Orrin Hatch is an ass. He's saying this amounts to political showmanship and he's throwing out the old Repug line of 'raising taxes' is what this is all about. He says that the Dems don't have an energy policy and that if they do - it is to raise the price of gas to that of Europe. Hatch's opening statement is running long and he was asked if he was almost through and he said - I'm not through and I won't be through until I get through. I never liked this guy.

The Republicans misunderstood what was happening in the Nov. 2010 election. They thought there was some sort of radical shift toward their ideas when, in fact, the shift is in the opposite direction and people did not vote because they wanted to show Obama that he needs to change things a lot more.
