I don't think Jesus was into worrying about life here on earth as much as making sure kids understood His Father was waiting for them with open arms.

The injured man didn't ask for help but the Samaritan helped him anyway.

After two devout men passed him by like a pile of rotting meat.

And Jesus said that the first law was that we should love our neighbor as ourselves and that the Samaritan was the neighbor, not the two devout men who passed the injured man by.
