GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has already been pee’d on before, so don’t expect him to give up easily just because he’s barely registering in polling.

Or so that was his message to the Sarasota Republican Party on Wednesday night. Santorum, a former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania, said throughout his political career he’s faced obstacles and has been able to fight on.

To prove his point, he told about 300 Republicans in Sarasota about a time he was campaigning for Congress in 1990 when no one thought he stood a chance.

Santorum said it was a hot August day and he was knocking door-to-door to build support for his struggling campaign.
