| Why are Barcelona police so brutal? |
I just saw this video of police brutality against student protesters. http://www.businessinsider.com/graphic-video-of-police-attacks-on-protesters-in-spain-2011-5I seem to hear one story after another about the police in this going back all the way to the 70's. What is it about Barcelona PD that gives them this reputation?

Remember the Conquistadores and the Spanish Inquisition came from there. Now before a bunch of PC types descend on me and say I shouldn't say things like this about Spaniards, let me say that my ancestors came from there and they have a history of brutality in their military culture. Look at what is done in other Spanish speaking countries as well. It comes from that heritage.

| 2. What did you see there that you haven't seen in the US? |
Or pretty much any other country during a big demonstration?

| 3. Of course we have police brutality |
But you don't see it in plain daylight the way I do in Spain. It's as if no one even pretends to hold them accountable.
