| 3. cute, but it should be pointed out that the snowfalls are due to climate change also |
|
Added heat and the reduction of the polar ice cap means more evaporation. Therefore there is more moisture in the air to be returned as precipitation in all forms.
Exactly as predicted decades ago.

That's what I always go back to. These weather events were PREDICTED, based on models of climate change at least as far back as the 80s.

| 14. We've known about Global Warming since mid-late 1950's .... |
|
but scientists have recognized the negative impact that humanity was having on
nature since at least the late 1880's --
There was a 50 year gap in our feeling the effects of Global Warming which permitted
the oil industry/ExxonMobil deceive the public with disinformation campaigns costing
tens of billions.
The effects we are feeling now only reflect human activity up to about 1960 --
which is why it is expected that we will see even more rapid melting of glaciers and
other conditions.

My point being that what "they" present as evidence that climate change not real is, in fact, evidence that climate change is real and that these exact changes were predicted decades ago.
We all know that they depend on double standards for everything. They can try and present one blizzard as proof that climate change isn't happening but when we present multiple ongoing situations it isn't enough evidence for them. We get that. They do it all the time and not just for climate change.

| 20. Ok so you get that point, and I'm not saying your facts are wrong |

Edited on Tue May-31-11 09:01 AM by demwing
but the joke doesn't work if you concetrate on presenting straight facts. It's a comic, not a PSA. You set the Republican up, and knock them down.
It wouldn't be as funny your way...and that's what I don't think you get.

We have to take it one step at a time. I tried to explain this to my Foxaholic sister, but her eyes glazed over after a few seconds. If it won't fit on the screen crawl on Fox, they can't absorb it.

That's a brilliant statement...and soooo true.
I might add that if you present facts and they don't fit within their narrow window of beliefs and narative, their brains just shut down and that's when the eye-glaze happens.

with my RW relatives. It was a waste of time. I came up with a short question that they have yet to counter.
"How long can you shit in your nest and still expect to be able to live there?"
