| it's time to put Americans back to work. |
|
employed Americans generate revenue by paying taxes and by participating in the economy. "cheap" goods are only artificially so. the real cost is much greater than what is reflected in the retail price. this credit downgrade makes that even more apparent, but it has been obvious for many years in former industrial areas.
it's time for corporations to step up and start hiring, and it's also time for a serious reallocation of tax dollars. we need projects to fix our infrastructure. we also need to seriously look at ramping up our electrical grid. these projects could employ a lot of people domestically, and we need the jobs and revenue.
if debt is the problem, then that's the real solution.

| 1. But, but, but Corporations get huge tax breaks for shipping jobs |

overseas AND they get to hire really cheap employees overseas also. What should be done, but never will be, is the corporations should be taxed the equivalent of the average that the employees were paying into our tax system, and whatever product is shipped back here for sale should have a tax tariff, a pretty high one at that. Then under Mr. Obama's plan to give tax breaks ONLY to corporations/companies that offer jobs in the good old USA, then maybe corporations/companies would have an incentive to invest in their own damn country. Seems pretty simple, but neither side wants to do this. Oh, well.
