1. oxytocin is a hormone,

it is not the same thing as the drug oxycontin

For example pitocin is a synthesized oxytocic (from mare's urine) that is used to induce labor in pregnant women. The neurotransmitter oxytocin is associated with pair bonding and "loving feelings" - helping to bond to feed the newborn after labor etc.
