The House can't possibly accomodate a Presidential Speech on Wednesday, but...

Boehner and Cantor demand on Tuesday afternoon a meeting with the President prior to the speech on Thursday, after the speech was rescheduled from Wednesday to Thursday to accomodate House demands (remember: the House was just too too too busy to have the President speak to them a Wednesday evening).

Does the mainstream media have utter complete amnesia about the fiasco over the scheduling of the speech? Now on the eve of the speech, the President has to drop everything and accomodate the demands of the obstructionist in Congress, the creeps who walked out of meeting during the debt ceiling talks?

2. The President gave the wrong answer

raise an eyebrow to the last minute demands of Eric Candor for a Wednesday meeting with the President, and juxtapose Cantor's demand with the House's refusal to welcome the President for a Wednesday speech...no more than a week ago.

Whether it is television, electronic or print, I'll not be holding my breath. In fact, I would bet that the general media trend will be to insist that the President meet their demands for a meeting.

Mark Halprin, on Hardball last night, insisted that the President needed to meet with Boehner and Cantor.

7. Why should the President give Cantor another opportunity to walk out of a meeting

when they do not hear that everyone single Presidential proposal fails to meet their every priority.

Instead of Thursday being about the President's ideas, the media focus will be on the President's unwillingness to present ideas that Republican's can work with.

The President can not win in this media environment.

If the President meets with Republicans, the Media will turn the meeting into a fiasco.

If the President doesn't meet with Republicans, the Media will focus on the President's unwillingness to even give the Republicans a chance.

Meanwhile, no one will dare mention that the Republicans were too busy to have the President to accomodate the President's speech on Wednesday, but now the Republicans have all kinds of time to embarrass the President on Wednesday.

Am I out in left field on this?
