| Should bush, cheney, rumsfeld and others get trials? |
|
Seems they were very instrumental in murdering tens of thousands of people.

Iraq - millions of people dead, maimed or made homeless. A nation destroyed. Why are the perpetrators of an illegal war held to a higher standard?

Congress has that authority and power. There was only a statement by Bush we are at war with AlQaeda..Does not quite cut it Constitutionally...But then again, assassinating American citizens SUSPECTED of criminal activity isn't too constitutional either...

I've been thinking about Nuremberg, what if FDR & Churchill decided NOT TO LOOK BACK, & let the excuse of 'just following orders' stand? What if the Geneva Conventions were never ratified? It may be an old Twilight Zone episode.

| 17. I hate to say it but the difference is the Al Quida American Traitor |
|
I repeat traitor, spit and disowned his country the USA and he actively promoted terrorist attacks against the United States. That is the difference....he was on the most wanted list of terrorist around the world. This guy was the leader of planning on attacking the U.S.
The crimnals you referenced are still on US soil and yes they should be tried and prosecuted for War crimes. Maybe they should be prosecuted in their military courts....I mean after all that's what they did to others.

that everything Hitler did was legal in Germany? If he had lived longer, Germany would have had no grounds to prosecute. Likewise, Bushco was covered by US law and policy. War crimes are enforced by the international community.

Obviously we know that what was put forth was not true, I most definitely felt that at the time as well. But that does not prove that they were altogether fabricated. It seems to me that loose interpretations to suit an agenda vs. verifiable outright lies would be a legal distinction probably not worth wasting time on. I seem to remember that a sitting president was recently unsuccessfully impeached for lying.
Whether they lied or not, congress passed war resolutions. Thus, the wars were\are legal.
Torture was legally justified by bushco's DOJ. To challenge that policy that was based on an advisory legal interpretation is a non starter.
