So, how are "they" going to "GET" Elizabeth Warren?
That Harvard professor stuff gets blasted away once people see her and hear her speak. As her background growing up in Oklahoma in a borderline poor family, working at the age of 8, married at 19 and a young mother soon afterward, working her way thru college and teaching elementary schoolchildren...that "harvard professor" thing sounds pretty hollow.

Gnashing of teeth now being heard at the offices of the Wall ST. Journal...:eyes:

1. Sadly, Scott Brown has the backing of Wall Street. Rachel did a segment on this a few weeks ago.
Scott Brown has more money in his back pocket from Wall Street than any other senator, according to Rachel:

I hope you are right. I hope the people of MA are much smarter than this. Elizabeth should not be neck-n-neck with Scott Brown. That's just preposterous!!

3. Do they remember that he voted for Obama's financial reform?

5. Yes, they do remember that.
But they also remember that he demanded & got some weakening of the regulations re: future risky trading as his price for signing on.

And Brown is the only R that has a chance in MA.

14. Exactly. And if they are smart, they'd realize that he was partly responsible for
watering it down, then voting for it so that it could have it both ways. He can sit back and brag about having voted for it, then to appease his Teabagger syncophants, claim to have scaled back major regulations.

9. We're smart enough. We can't control the voting machines, however.
Edited on Tue Oct-04-11 08:44 AM by valerief
Only the people the Republic Party pays to control/tinker/sabotage them can do that.

15. Oh, yeah. I forgot that ya'll use those machines. Even with a progressive governor
and a relatively Democratic state legislature, you're still using those damned machines?

*sighing*

16. Optical scanner. Verifiable if you count the paper, but that never happens. nt

2. I was wondering the exact same thing
They're probably combing through everything that she's read and/or written since grade school to find evidence of any "socialist" tendencies or anything that makes her appear as an "ultra-radical leftist" or "extremist". :eyes: :puke: Fortunately, based on what we've seen of her so far, I don't expect her to take their (attempted) smears sitting down. I hope she wins the nomination and knocks out "pretty boy" Brown!

4. IMO, they only have the Adlai Stevenson strategy of branding EW as
an "Egghead". And that she's too intelligent for the American People as they won't be able to understand her positions.

10. It won't work in MA. People there are proud that their students score highest in
the country in science and math. The atmosphere is different. Conservatives are really outnumbered. Without significant crossover by discouraged Dems and some Independents, he won't make it this time. Scott Brown won his race because Coakley was a poor candidate and Brown seemed to be fresh and untainted.

Well, now he's not fresh and he is tainted. Remember when he supported those Wall Street raises?

6. Going after her intelligence would work far better in the south than ...
in New England. Much to their chagrin.
She does have a sincere desire to help the average person and that alone, in conservative circles, defines socialism.

7. I take some solace in the fact that she's very smart and has seen how the "inside" works
I'm hoping she's prepared to hit back when they do try to get her.

8. What they always do-relentless red-baiting.
Hopefully the left establishment won't take the bait like they usually do and try to prove they actually adore capitalism. It would be nice to have an economic populist out in the media giving a voice to the 99% without conflicting messages.

12. They'll say that Ms. Warren did not deserve the...
...two Silver Stars she received in Viet Nam, that she had pardoned a man who then killed again, that she's from Kenya and a secret Muslim. Their supporters will hate her for it.

13. The way to make certain that they don't "get" her is to get out
and help her campaign and show up at the polls and vote for her.
