3. Well, that would be accurate, if you're referring to the dust.

It was his time and he shuffled off.

He might have liked it, who knows--he isn't here to tell us. I suppose if I created a company that had a readily identifiable logo, and someone took the time to insert my image in a clever way into the thing as an honorific, I'd think it was clever and expressive of regard.
