Since their inception in 2009, has the Tea Party every held a sustained multi-week protest anyplace?

I don't recall them ever holding an "event" for more than a few hours. I.e., a "regular" protest. And that was with well-financed logistics from their wealthy backers.

Has any Tea Party event occupied any symbolic location for weeks on end? With attendance numbering at least 1,000?

I don't think they have.

I know they made a huge fuss and moan over the "ObamaCare" bill in the summer of 2009, crashing and disrupting town-hall meetings of Democrats and straying Republicans.

But anything close to the Madison protests, the Columbus protests, or the Wall Street protests? Where people just camp out for days on end?




Related question: how would the media have treated them if they had been able to, say, hold a sustained protest against a liberal governor in Sacramento or Hartford over liberal issues?

Bear in mind that the media goes apeshit if 15 people with teabags stapled to their hats shows up at a park for a couple of hours.

1. That's not how they roll. They'd never think "living rough" is a good idea.

They'd want access to soft beds, warm showers, generous toilets, and buffet tables.

They do short bursts--swoop into town, spend a lot of time/money in organization/publicity to get a "draw" speaker and the media to cover them, and then swoop away.

I have a college friend (and college for me was WAAAAAAY back when--B.C. -- before computers) who was an antiwar liberal who supports those assholes now. I just don't understand it. He's still standing; but he's a batshit rightwinger and he's not rich by a long shot.

Some of those supporters think that they've the potential some day to become wealthy--either through some "genius" idea they have, or a lottery ticket, or publisher's clearinghouse--or something--and they don't want the "gubmint" to be taking "their" money, the money they have only in their mind!!!
