No protesters have been arrested in Colorado Springs since the “occupation” began 12 days ago in sympathy with the loosely defined Occupy Wall Street movement. Occupy Wall Street has spread to cities across the country in the past month, encompassing dissatisfaction with tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations, funding for education being cut and unemployment as the economy sputters.
The protesters have characterized the gathering in the downtown park as an “occupation,” not illegal camping.
