IT wasn’t quite the slip-up (or slip-down, as it were) most people expect during a presidential campaign, but whatever happened to Ron Paul’s eyebrows at Tuesday’s night debate certainly caught some viewers’ attention.

For those of you not yet riveted by the Republican race, Mr. Paul, the dark-horse libertarian with equally dusky brows, was a victim of hot lights, faulty adhesive or merely a devilish optical illusion when his right eyebrow seemed to dip toward the stage at Dartmouth College.

Seen on television, Mr. Paul appeared to have a second, thinner brow under the one headed south, creating a delicate X over his right eye.

Jesse Benton, a campaign spokesman, insisted that Mr. Paul had been the victim of the elements, namely a heavy pollen season in New Hampshire, and called accusations that he’d been artificially enhancing “stupid” and “insulting.”

14. Honestly, I think it's a hard call to make. Eyebrow hairs can get really long.

He should have his brows trimmed so that they don't do this.

There is plenty about RP to be disgusted with. The eyebrow story doesn't move me.

15. Fake eyebrows? Really?

I do no like Ron Paul but old men have crazy eyebrows. Ron Paul's barber probably leaves them long in the middle and Mr. Paul probably strokes them outwards so they lay properly. When it gets hot, they droop.

It's weird but so are old man eyebrows.

16. Not completely convinced. When you get old (like me) your eyebrows start

to grow very long, but more sparsely in spots. It could be a fake eyebrow, or it could be just a bunch of scraggly long hairs falling down.

Mine aren't as bushy as ron's but i've experienced something similar. Have to brush them to keep them in place.

I'm sure it's just a bunch of long hairs that clumped together and got out of place. I'm an older guy, too, and my barber gives them a little trim with each haircut.

It's an individual thing, I think, but as guys get older, they need to keep an eye on their nose and ear hair as well. An investment in one of those little battery operated rotary trimmers is a good idea.

21. I have completely white hair and brown eyebrows with a few odd grays. I don't dye my eyebrows.

Different body hairs gray at different rates.

If they are real, then he needs to groom them and use eyebrow wax to keep them in place if necessary.
