... are natural adversaries, and have been killing each other for as long as there have been police. I agree, the hardhats would be highly unlikely to take a licking without giving some "love" back. But is that what we want to happen? OWS is supposed to be a non-violent protest.

That being said, it is good to see the rank-and-file of labor joining the protests. That was an alliance sorely needed in the 60's which never came to pass.
