The terms “politician” and “public servant” in the same sentence constitute an oxymoron. We are where we are today because the only ones that politicians are there to serve are themselves and their corporate or super-wealthy paymasters.

The true public servants in our society are those who volunteer their time for worthy causes, those who put themselves at risk for the sake of truth and justice (think Julian Assange), and that rare elected official who actually tries to accomplish anything in the public interest and whose career tends to be very short.

Words are supposed to mean something. We all need to know that we are being destroyed by a greed-driven minority that use words as weapons.
