Man calls in Snowbird bomb threat because feelings were hurt

SALT LAKE CITY — A man was hurt because his friend went to Oktoberfest at Snowbird without him so he called in a bomb scare, saying a Pakistani colleague had planted the device because of his dislike for Americans.

The threat on Oct. 8 resulted in the evacuation of the annual festival's pavilions, the Cliff Lodge and the Snowbird Center.

It also sent a police officer knocking on the door of Daniel Ford Artley's home in West Valley City after the call was traced via caller ID to to his residence, according to police reports. Artley, according to police, said he hoped his friend would return home sooner because of the scare and they could "hang out." .............(more)
