| Does anybody have some info on Bill Schmalz, one of the pair of the real AdBusters instigators? |
|
Well, folks, I've been doing some research on AdBusters lately after the longtime alternative radio host Dave Emory posted his article on his SpitfireList site(unfortunately, my first post didn't go over so well so I had that topic closed), and it showed that Kalle Lasn, one of the creators of AdBusters had a somewhat shady & mysterious past(still looking into that)......though thankfully, he wasn't quite the radical Jew-hater I thought he was(truth is, I had confused him with neo-Nazi Rocky Suhayda, who happened to be quoted in the same article); however, he did actually post a claim, back in 2003/04, that Jews supposedly made up about half of the neo-cons, so that has to be taken into account.
However, though, I have little information on either of the two primary AdBusters instigators, Bill Schmalz in particular,(the other being senior editor Micah White), other than a little bit about his film-making work. If anyone can get some more info on this guy, that'd be great, because I have to get off of this computer in a minute.

| 13. Thanks, but I never believed in Lasn's statement anyhow. |
|
Still, though, those two links will be pretty useful for debunking fringe/extreme right agitprop on the 'Net. Thanks for the info. =) (particularly on YouTube.)

| 2. Now why would you be trying to discredit Adbusters? |
|
And by extension I assume, the OWS protests as well?

| 10. Nope. It's Kalle Lasn I'm worried about. Everyone else I mentioned seems to be okay. |

but true. From http://books.google.com/books?id=XQETzHOtgD8C&pg=PT70&lpg=PT70&dq=neocons+Conservatives+Without+Conscience&source=bl&ots=RI8seAcFUa&sig=oB2gcpBhv5wXLRGd-8v7AO73ANc&hl=en&ei=eJ6cToWGE8SBsgLKy4yoCA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=3&ved=0CDQQ6AEwAg#v=onepage&q&f=false">Conservatives Without Conscience by John Dean: Neocons: Intellectuals who drifted from the far left to the center to the right, carrying their flagship magazine, Commentary, with them. They are New York based. Neocons tend to be militant internationalists. They publish their own inside-the-beltway weekly, The Weekly Standard. EDIT ADD PERSONAL COMMENT: You use the word "instigators" in reference to AdBusters & OWS. Shall I take this to mean you do not support the Occupation? If you do not, can you explain why not?

| 11. Should definitely clarify some things. |
|
Just wanted to clarify some things:
1.)I do support O.W.S. 2.)I already believe Lasn's claim was a lie(thanks for the Wiki link anyway.). 3.)I wasn't trying to troll or anything(because that isn't how I roll, if you can pardon the slang. :)). However, though, I am a little disturbed by the fact that Bill Schmalz and Micah White are largely being ignored, while Lasn gets all the credit; that, and I am rather concerned about Lasn's past idiocy regarding the neo-cons could be another thing used to try to discredit us here, particularly since he's being made out as the head honcho(which he wasn't).
My entire reason for posting this is out of sincere concern. I really want O.W.S. to succeed, but we need to try to keep combatting the B.S. or we'll be screwed. That's what the crooks in the 1% are hoping for. And we have to counter the propaganda and misconceptions, like we have been. Hope this clears things up.
