http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/10/17/marine-veteran-on-occupy-protests-this-is-our-time-to-change-greed-in-america/Seargent Thomas describes the lack of a future and greed destroying the country. Urges other Vets to speak out and disregard the "chain of command" mentality that gets ingrained in military thought about criticizing the government. This isn't about "chain of command" this is about "a way-of-lfe"...to which I would add ...a way-of-life that has been stolen from us by forces of greed and the handmaidens of that entrenched power.
Is it any wonder our cities are falling apart? That budgets are being slashed? That cops and firefighters and teachers are losing their jobs?
This is what happens when you decimate the tax base by outsourcing the manufacturing sector in favor of a financial economy. No jobs, no tax base, no civil society.
Why is this soo hard to figure out?
on edit: the only disagreement I have with Sgt. Thomas's words to the police was the suggestion that if they wanted to kill people they should go to Iraq. Sarge, the Iraqi's didn't deserve it.
