Noticing a whole lot of frustration, drama, and emotional conflict. Seeing some people who are actively taking out their emotional frustrations on the group, and others who seem distraught at any change, for better or for worse. Just want to remind everyone to take a moment and breathe. This movement is moving forward, slowly, just as it was bound to do. The reforms we are working for won't come overnight, and it's likely going to be an uphill battle all the way. Remember that every day we are out there getting the message out is a victory, and that every person we talk to is one more person who won't buy the nonsense in the media quite so easily the next time they hear it.
Right now, our very existence is evidence that we are in the right, and that we are moving forward. It may not feel like anything is happening, but it is. Every day, I see a couple more news agencies pick up the stories of their local Occupy Movements. There are crackdowns happening around, but not here. This is neither good nor bad. Or perhaps it is both. Thousands of people have been arrested all over the country, and thousands more likely will before we win, but it's not slowing things down. This is how these things happen, and that's okay. The time will come when we need to be of a common mind and act with a common will, and when that time comes, we will be ready for it.
So take a moment to think about why you are doing this. Take a moment to calm down, and remember that we have nothing to worry about, because we are already acting to do what is right. Take a moment to talk to a friend, and find out what they know about what it means to be part of the 99%. But most of all, take a moment to just breathe and revel in the moment you are in. The next moment will come as it will.
(Oh, and remember kids, don't feed the trolls.)
