Libya's first English radio show launches

A group of young Libyans launched the country's first news, talk and music radio show, broadcast in English. "The Free Talk Show" aired its first broadcast at the beginning of October, shortly after the fall of Tripoli to revolutionary forces. (Oct. 27) (The Associated Press)

Good to see you keeping up the good fight!

I remember spending a few nights listening to a Libyan radio station from Benghazi during the revolution. It was also broadcast in English. It was so awesome, feeling so close to the Libyans. They brought up issues like what should be done with Gaddafi when he was captured (which, for the record, most of them wanted a trial) and how they would let pro-Gaddafi people speak if they called in.

It breaks my heart that so many Americans who support Occupy Wall Street believe the pro-Gaddafi propaganda and reject the Libyan revolutionaries. I wish there could be the same relationship between American and Libyan activists that there is between American and Egyptian activists.

Well - there is, to some extent, as I've seen on Twitter and Libyan Facebook pages. It's just not mainstream.

I will always carry a piece of Libya in my heart, and I wish this radio station well. Libya Hurra!
